General Itinerary: 2025 Mission Trips to Uganda

Our mission trips are designed to blend meaningful service, cultural immersion, and adventure. Here’s a detailed itinerary to give you a glimpse of what to expect:

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

  • Arrival: Touch down at Entebbe International Airport and be received by Simon and our welcoming team.

  • Transfer: Travel to accommodations in Kampala, the vibrant capital of Uganda.

  • Orientation: Engage in a detailed session on Uganda’s culture, mission trip objectives, and your role in making an impact.

Day 2–3: Cultural Immersion

  • Community Visits:
    Travel to Buikwe District to meet local community groups, including youth choirs, women’s empowerment collectives, and cultural leaders.

  • Traditional Arts:
    Participate in djembe drumming sessions, learn African choral music, and enjoy storytelling sessions led by elders.

  • Historic Exploration:
    Visit Kasubi Tombs (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) or the Uganda Museum in Kampala to understand Uganda’s rich cultural heritage.

Day 4–8: Service and Community Engagement

  • Youth Empowerment:
    Work with students at local schools, such as Buganda Road Primary School by mentoring, teaching, or leading arts and music workshops.

  • Cultural Arts Workshops:
    Assist in organizing storytelling festivals or traditional dance programs to promote African heritage among local children.

  • Infrastructure Projects:
    Participate in constructing classrooms or community centers in partnership with ACT Buikwe, focusing on enhancing educational facilities for underprivileged children.

  • Health Initiatives:
    Collaborate with local health outreach programs, offering health education or participating in community wellness activities.

Day 9: Adventure Day

  • Safari Experience:
    Embark on a guided safari in Murchison Falls National Park or Lake Mburo National Park to witness Uganda’s iconic wildlife, including giraffes, elephants, and lions.

  • Crafts and Markets:
    Explore the Buganda Road Craft Market or local markets in Kampala for handmade art, jewelry, and fabrics.

  • Cuisine Exploration:
    Enjoy a traditional Ugandan meal featuring dishes like matoke, luwombo, and chapati, complemented by fresh tropical fruits.

Day 10–12: Wrap-Up and Reflection

  • Project Completion:
    Conclude your service projects and celebrate the outcomes with the local community in Buikwe District.

  • Farewell Event:
    Join a cultural exchange event featuring performances by local choirs and dance troupes. Share your experiences and build lasting connections.

  • Reflection Session:
    Participate in a group debrief to discuss the trip’s impact, share personal growth stories, and reflect on the cultural exchange.

Day 13: Departure

  • Farewell Breakfast:
    Enjoy a final meal with the group, featuring Ugandan coffee and local delicacies.

  • Transfer:
    Return to Entebbe International Airport for your flight home, carrying memories and the impact of your mission trip.
