Our Story
Since 2013, the Pan African Choir has united children, youth, adults, and seniors through music in Uganda. In 2020, it became an international charity, inspiring communities worldwide. Through performances, workshops, and mission trips, the choir connects people, nurtures talent, and fosters creativity and healing.
Choirs That Bridge Cultures and Connect the World
The Pan African Choir is a vibrant global community of children, youth, adults, and seniors united by music. Founded in Uganda, the choir has grown into an international charity and a movement where participants celebrate cultural heritage, nurture artistic excellence, and inspire audiences across continents.
More than a musical ensemble, every choir segment is a living expression of connection and purpose. Through folk and choral performances, immersive workshops, and mission trips, we use music as a universal language—bringing communities together, fostering healing, and sharing the wealth and depth of cultural traditions with the world.
Our Journey
The Pan African Choir began as a grassroots musical initiative in Uganda, bringing together individuals from culturally diversified backgrounds to sing, learn, and share stories through music. What started as a local expression of cultural pride quickly evolved into a platform for education, healing, and cross-cultural connection.
As the choir grew, so did its reach. We expanded into schools, community centers, and faith institutions, offering workshops and performances that celebrate African heritage while encouraging dialogue and understanding. International tours and collaborations followed, allowing us to connect with global audiences and partners who share a belief in the power of music to unite communities.
Today, the Pan African Choir operates as an international charity and cultural movement—based in the United States, rooted in Africa, engaged globally, and committed to long-term community impact.
Our Vision & Purpose
Our vision is a world where music serves as a bridge between cultures, a tool for healing, and a pathway to opportunity for all.
The Pan African Choir exists to:
Preserve and share African musical and cultural heritage
Develop artistic talent across generations
Use music and the arts to support education, inclusion, and community well-being
Foster meaningful cultural exchange between Africa and the world
We believe that when communities are given space to express themselves creatively, they gain confidence, resilience, and a stronger sense of belonging.
Music as Healing and Education
At the heart of the Pan African Choir’s effort is the belief that music is both expressive and transformative. Our programs integrate performance with education and community engagement, creating environments where learning and healing happen naturally.
Through structured workshops, therapeutic music sessions, and collaborative performances, participants experience:
Emotional expression and confidence-building
Cross-cultural learning and understanding
Creative pathways for personal and community growth
These programs serve children, youth, adults, and seniors, ensuring that music remains a lifelong source of connection and empowerment.
Looking Ahead
As the Pan African Choir continues to grow, our commitment remains clear: to honor cultural heritage, serve communities with compassion, and use music to inspire positive change across borders.
We invite you to be part of our journey—whether by attending a performance, supporting our programs, volunteering, or partnering with us to expand our impact.
Flagship Focus for 2026: Autism Awareness & Support
In 2026, the Pan African Choir will place autism awareness and support at the heart of its mission, establishing this work as our flagship program focus for the year and beyond.
Across Africa, many children with autism face limited access to therapy, inclusive education, and community-based support. In response, we are mobilizing music, traditional arts, and global partnerships to raise awareness and deliver meaningful, long-term solutions.
A central pillar of this commitment is our direct support for the establishment of The Jason Autism Center in Uganda—a dedicated space designed to provide therapy, arts-based learning, family support, and inclusive programming for children with autism. The center will serve as on of East Africa’s special and unique hub for care, creativity, and community engagement, grounded in culturally responsive approaches.
Our 2026 initiatives will focus on:
Promoting understanding and inclusion for children with autism
Supporting music-based therapy and creative arts programs
Mobilizing resources for families, educators, and community centers
Contributing directly to the development and sustainability of The Jason Autism Center
Integrating children with special needs into safe, expressive, and culturally rich creative spaces
Through music and traditional arts, we create opportunities for children with autism to express themselves, connect with others, and thrive within their communities—while building structures that ensure lasting impact.
